The hague: Protesters targeted the Dutch Parliament building during the weekly question hour on Tuesday, accusing the Netherlands of failing to take a sufficiently strong stance on Israel for the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, according to public broadcaster NOS. Two people were arrested in connection with the protest, according to authorities.

According to Anadolu Agency, the XR Justice Now! activist group claimed responsibility for the protest, with demonstrators demanding a boycott of Israel for its actions in Gaza. The protest unfolded as demonstrators in the public gallery interrupted question time by shouting slogans.

Following repeated warnings from Parliament Speaker Martin Bosma, the gallery was cleared, and all visitors were ordered to leave the chamber. In response to the disruption, the parliament building was temporarily closed off.
