Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping engaged in discussions regarding the ongoing situation in the Middle East, strongly condemning Israel's actions as violations of the UN Charter. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, during their phone conversation, both leaders expressed "identical approaches" to the regional conflict, emphasizing that the crisis cannot be resolved through military action.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ushakov highlighted that Russia and China are in full agreement that a political solution is necessary for the Middle East situation. Putin reiterated Russia's readiness to mediate in the conflict if needed, and both leaders agreed to instruct their respective departments to share information and coordinate efforts in the coming days.

The leaders also addressed the recent G7 summit, noting tensions among its participants. Putin and Xi reportedly considered the summit an unsuccessful moment for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as per Ushakov.

Chinese President Xi emphasized the urgency of a ceasefire and argued against the use of force to resolve international disputes, according to Xinhua News Agency. He stated, "China is ready to continue enhancing communication and coordination with all parties and play a constructive role in restoring Mideast peace," while stressing that protecting civilians should be the top priority.

Furthermore, the conversation included a review of Russia-China bilateral relations, with both leaders agreeing to conduct full-scale talks in China on September 2.
