Astana: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Kazakh capital of Astana for a state visit, the Kremlin announced Wednesday. The Russian leader was greeted personally by Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, highlighting the significance of this diplomatic engagement.
According to Anadolu Agency, this meeting marks the 39th encounter between the current leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan. The visit is noteworthy as it is Putin's second state visit within a single presidential term, which is uncommon in diplomatic protocols.
Upon arrival, Putin and Tokayev are expected to proceed to the Kedrovy Dom, or the Cedar House, which is the residence of the Kazakh leader.
