Moscow: President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree mandating Federal Security Service (FSB) approval for vessels entering Russian ports from foreign countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, the decree, made public through the government portal, specifies that ships arriving from international ports will now require permission from the captain of the seaport, which must be coordinated with an FSB official. This new protocol is effective immediately following the decree's publication.

The government has not provided an explanation for the implementation of this decree. Previously, the Ministry of Transport was responsible for setting the regulations for ships entering Russian ports. TASS, the state news agency, noted that there were already special procedures in place for vessels arriving at ports near Russian naval bases.
