Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized on Saturday that trade and economic ties between Russia and Belarus continue to develop robustly despite external attempts to influence them. Hosting Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Novo-Ogaryovo residence, Putin remarked on the positive trajectory of their economic collaboration.

According to Anadolu Agency, Putin highlighted that their trade turnover reached nearly $52 billion last year, which he described as a 'good indicator.' He noted a further 12.5% increase in the first half of this year, with $4.5 billion in direct Russian investments into Belarus. The Russian leader also pointed to technological cooperation as a significant area of progress, acknowledging Belarus's preservation and expansion of Soviet-era technological advancements, including in microelectronics.

Putin mentioned that discussions with Lukashenko would include a summary of the talks held in Moscow the previous day, focusing on strengthening the Union State and their active collaboration on the international stage. Lukashenko, in turn, noted that technological cooperation was a key topic in his meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and expressed confidence in overcoming any challenges through joint efforts.

The two nations, united under the framework of the Union State, continue to engage in dialogue aimed at deepening their integration, highlighting their commitment to facing international dynamics together.
