Qatar: Qatar announced on Tuesday evening that its armed forces successfully intercepted a missile attack aimed at the nation. The defense ministry has not disclosed additional information regarding the incident.
According to Anadolu Agency, Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that explosions were audible over Doha as a result of interception operations. Prior to this, the defense ministry confirmed that air defenses had neutralized five Iranian ballistic missiles launched toward Qatari territory.
This incident occurs in the context of escalating regional tensions that began on February 28, following a joint attack by Israel and the United States against Iran, which resulted in over 1,200 fatalities and injured another 10,000 individuals. In response, Tehran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military installations.
