Doha: Qatar announced on Tuesday that mediators are closely coordinating efforts to facilitate negotiations between the United States and Iran, focusing on the exchange of draft proposals. This development is part of ongoing efforts to reach a diplomatic resolution to the long-standing conflict between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari addressed the media during a press conference in Doha, emphasizing Qatar's steadfast position on the matter. He urged for a return to normalcy in the Strait of Hormuz and revealed that there is currently no clear timeline for reaching an agreement. However, he expressed optimism that a deal could be finalized 'as soon as possible.'

Al-Ansari further stressed the importance of resuming negotiations and highlighted the necessity of ensuring a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to achieve progress. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of Qatar, Pakistan, and Oman in facilitating negotiations and exchanging draft proposals between Washington and Tehran.

Moreover, the spokesman commended the mediation roles of Pakistan and Oman, noting that Muscat has been instrumental in the recent weeks. The diplomatic endeavors by these countries illustrate a concerted effort to bridge the gap between the US and Iran, with hopes of reaching a peaceful resolution.
