Doha: The Qatari Defense Ministry announced on Monday evening that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 13 ballistic missiles launched from Iran. This interception occurred amidst ongoing Iranian retaliatory strikes in response to US-Israeli attacks.

According to Anadolu Agency, a statement from the Qatari ministry revealed that a total of 14 ballistic missiles and several drones were launched towards Qatari territory from Iran on Monday. Out of these, 13 missiles were intercepted and neutralized, while one missile landed in an uninhabited area, resulting in no casualties or damage.

The region has been experiencing heightened tensions since the United States and Israel initiated a joint offensive against Iran on February 28. This offensive has resulted in approximately 1,200 fatalities, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf countries, alleging that they host 'US military assets.' Some of these retaliatory attacks have led to casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, such as airports, ports, and buildings.
