Tehran: The Iranian foreign minister has issued a stark warning, stating that "radioactive fallout will end life in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) capitals, not Tehran," in response to recent US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant.

According to Anadolu Agency, Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian foreign minister, highlighted the international double standards in addressing nuclear threats. He referenced the global concern over hostilities near Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, contrasting it with the repeated bombings of Iran's nuclear facilities. Araghchi expressed his concerns through US social media platform X, underscoring that the real threat of radioactive fallout extends to the GCC capitals rather than Tehran.

The recent attacks on Iran's petrochemical facilities were also addressed by Araghchi, who argued that they reveal the "real objectives" of the aggressors. Earlier, the joint US and Israeli strikes on the Bushehr nuclear plant resulted in the death of one person, further intensifying the situation.

This attack is part of escalating regional tensions following the US and Israel's joint offensive on Iran, which began on February 28. This offensive has already claimed over 1,340 lives, including the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and other nations, including Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets.
