Madrid:Real Madrid demanded the immediate resignation of La Liga president Javier Tebas from his position, as well as from his role as vice president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, accusing him of a lack of neutrality and impartiality in his treatment of the club.
According to Anadolu Agency, the call for resignation came after Tebas compared Real Madrid's management methods to those of Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany's propaganda minister, and referred to Real Madrid TV as part of this alleged strategy. Although Tebas later clarified that he was not referring to Nazi ideology, Real Madrid described his comments as 'absolutely intolerable and extraordinarily serious.'
The club also criticized Tebas for his comments regarding Real Madrid's involvement in the Negreira case, which concerns payments made by Barcelona to companies linked to a former vice president of Spain's Technical Committee of Referees. Real Madrid stated it had approached UEFA for clarification on these payments and called for measures to protect the integrity of football competitions.
Additionally, the club demanded a comprehensive overhaul of Spain's refereeing system and football governance, including replacing officials who were in positions of responsibility during the period in question. Real Madrid accused Tebas of focusing on discrediting the club instead of seeking clarification and promoting necessary reforms in Spanish football.
Real Madrid concluded that Tebas's conduct is incompatible with his institutional responsibilities and that his actions represent 'a genuine scourge for Spanish football,' prompting their demand for his resignation.
