Khartoum: A Sudanese medical group reported that one person was killed and three others were injured when drones operated by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted a humanitarian convoy of the World Food Program in Sudan's North Kordofan state.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Sudan Doctors Network stated that the attack occurred in the Allah Karim area as the convoy was on its way to deliver aid to displaced individuals in El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan. The network condemned the incident as a violation of international humanitarian law, emphasizing that it jeopardizes essential aid efforts amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Sudan.

The network attributed full responsibility for the attack to the RSF and called on the international community, the UN, and human rights organizations to take immediate action. They urged for the protection of humanitarian workers, an independent investigation, and accountability for those responsible.

The RSF has not yet commented on the attack. The conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which began in April 2023, has resulted in thousands of deaths and millions of displacements. The RSF controls all five states in the western Darfur region, except for parts of North Darfur under army control, while the army holds most areas in the remaining 13 states, including Khartoum.
