RSF Drone Strikes Target Governor’s House and Civilian Sites in Blue Nile

Damazin:Sudan Sudanese authorities accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Saturday of launching drone strikes on the governor's house in Blue Nile state and several civilian sites in the state capital, Damazin.

According to Anadolu Agency, Governor Ahmed al-Omda Badi stated that the drone strikes were intercepted by air defenses. However, he did not provide details about any casualties or damage resulting from the attack.

Badi asserted that the attack would not deter efforts to continue the struggle, defend the homeland, and work to cleanse Sudanese territory of rebellion and aggression. The RSF did not immediately respond to these accusations.

Authorities in Sudan and human rights organizations have repeatedly accused the RSF of targeting civilian facilities, though the RSF has consistently denied these allegations. The conflict in Blue Nile state has intensified recently, with the RSF and its ally, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), increasing their attacks.

The ongoing conflict in Sudan, which began in April 2023 due to disagreements over integrating the RSF into the armed forces, has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands and displaced approximately 13 million people, according to UN and international estimates.
