Rubio Asserts Iranian Threats Do Not Hinder US Military Activities in Europe

Ankara:Potential threats from Iran are not impacting American military operations across Europe or within NATO territories, according to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

According to Anadolu Agency, Rubio made this statement while departing Greece for Portugal, the final leg of his European tour. He emphasized that there is nothing the US wants or needs to do against Iran that cannot still be accomplished.

In response to a security alert in late September involving suspicious vehicles, the Pentagon has relocated all American bombers from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire back to domestic bases. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham indicated there were "strong indications" of Iranian involvement in the incident, yet Tehran has denied these allegations.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that unspecified threats were a factor in the decision to relocate the bombers. "Yeah, I think we can say that. They didn't fly out by accident. There were some threats," Trump stated.
