Nabatieh: Russia's international humanitarian cooperation agency announced that Israel attacked the partner Russian House in Nabatieh, Lebanon, describing the incident as an 'unprovoked act of aggression.'

According to Anadolu Agency, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Evgeny Primakov, stated on Telegram that the cultural center was purely civilian. He mentioned, "Israeli aviation struck the partner Russian House in the Lebanese city of Nabatieh. The director of the cultural center, Assaad Deia, is alive and safe. These are our good friends, there was no military activity in the cultural center. The strike was not provoked by anything."

Primakov further explained that the agency's official representative office, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Beirut, is maintaining communication with the Nabatieh office. Rossotrudnichestvo released an official statement on the Russian social media platform Max, condemning the incident as an act of unprovoked aggression.

The statement highlighted historical context, noting that the Soviet Cultural Center in Damascus, Syria, was similarly destroyed by Israeli bombs on October 10, 1973, during the Fourth Arab-Israeli War, resulting in two deaths.

Tensions in the region have been rising since February 28, when the US and Israel initiated large-scale attacks on Iran, reportedly resulting in approximately 1,300 casualties, including the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US assets.
