Moscow: Russia on Saturday announced that there are currently no mechanisms in place to facilitate trade and economic cooperation with the United States. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in a conversation with Izvestia newspaper, highlighted the potential benefits of resuming such cooperation for both nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Peskov pointed out that there is considerable interest at the corporate level to engage in trade with the US. However, he emphasized that practically, no mechanisms have been established, and no joint projects are currently underway. The future of such cooperation remains uncertain until the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict is resolved.

Peskov acknowledged peacekeeping efforts by the US, expressing sincere hope that these efforts will yield positive outcomes. He also reiterated Russia's opposition to the deployment of a European military contingent in Ukraine, clarifying that this stance is not merely a red line but a well-communicated position.

In further comments to Russian media, Peskov criticized the West for diminishing relations with Russia, arguing that this approach is counterproductive and destabilizing, likening the current situation to a Cold War environment. He expressed the need for peaceful discussions instead of a confrontational approach.

Additionally, Peskov informed the state news agency Tass that it remains undecided whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the G20 summit in the US later this year.
