Ankara: Russia claimed on Saturday that it took control of a settlement in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region. The country’s Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Telegram that its forces have captured the village of Chuhunivka, located in the Kupiansk district, near the Russian-Ukrainian border.
According to Anadolu Agency, Chuhunivka is less than 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from the village of Butyrki in Russia’s Belgorod region. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on this claim by Russia. Independent verification of the claim remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict, which is set to enter its fourth year later this month.
