Russia Claims Control Over Nykyforivka Settlement in Donetsk Region

Moscow: Russia claimed on Wednesday that it took control of another settlement in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region. The Russian Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Telegram that its forces had captured the village of Nykyforivka, located approximately 24 kilometers (15 miles) east of the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

According to Anadolu Agency, the village of Nykyforivka is situated about 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) east of the settlement of Fedorivka Druha, which Russia also claimed to have captured recently on Thursday. Ukrainian authorities have not yet issued a response to Russia's statement, and independent verification of these claims remains challenging amid the ongoing conflict.
