Moscow: Russian air defense systems destroyed 28 Ukrainian drones overnight, the country's Defense Ministry announced on Thursday. According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry reported that 13 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted over the Sea of Azov. In addition, eight drones were neutralized over Russia's Rostov region, six over Krasnodar, and one over Astrakhan. The ministry further stated that the Russian multiple rocket launch system, Hurricane, deployed from an airborne artillery brigade in Novorossiysk, targeted Ukrainian positions near the border with Russia's Kursk region. The operation was reportedly documented by drone units, capturing footage of the destruction of the targets. Despite these claims, the ministry did not disclose any potential damage or casualties resulting from the incidents. Additionally, there has been no immediate response from Ukraine regarding the assertions made by Russia. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which escalated into a full-scale war on February 24, 2022, continues to endure, marking nearly three years of ongoing hostilities.
