Moscow: Russia claimed on Sunday that Ukraine struck seven of its energy infrastructure and facilities over the past day.

According to Anadolu Agency, last month, the US brokered two agreements between Russia and Ukraine. One agreement aimed to 'ensure safe navigation' in the Black Sea, while the other called for a 30-day halt on attacks targeting energy infrastructure. These agreements took effect following discussions in Saudi Arabia.

Despite these agreements, both sides have frequently accused each other of violating the pause on energy-related strikes. A statement by the Defense Ministry indicated that Ukrainian attacks on Saturday targeted an energy facility and two high-voltage lines in the Bryansk border region. Additionally, another high-voltage line in the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow annexed in 2014, was reportedly hit.

Overnight, a high-voltage line in the Rostov region was disconnected due to a Ukrainian drone attack, the statement added. It also mentioned that a low-pressure gas distribution pipeline owned by Russian energy giant Gazprom in the Voronezh region was struck twice on Sunday morning.

The ministry further alleged that since Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced compliance with the ceasefire agreement from April 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have continuously attacked Russian energy facilities.
