Moscow: Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry on Monday announced the delivery of more than 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Myanmar, which has been severely affected by a recent earthquake. This initiative followed a directive from President Vladimir Putin and specific instructions from Minister Alexander Kurenkov.

According to Anadolu Agency, the aid was transported using an Il-76 aircraft and comprised essential items such as canned food, grains, sugar, and medical supplies. The delivery is part of Russia's ongoing efforts to assist populations in crisis, although the ministry did not provide specific details regarding the distribution of supplies once they reached Myanmar.

Myanmar experienced a devastating magnitude 7.7 earthquake on March 28, which resulted in significant casualties and damage to infrastructure. The disaster has claimed over 3,600 lives, with many individuals reported injured or missing, as stated by state officials.
