Moscow: Russia announced that it remains open to potential contacts with US officials in the near future. The statement follows recent discussions between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia, where Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal.

According to Anadolu Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova conveyed that Russia does not exclude the possibility of engaging with US representatives in the coming days. Her comments were made after the discussions in Saudi Arabia, where US and Ukrainian officials negotiated terms for a temporary ceasefire.

In a joint statement following the talks, Ukraine expressed its willingness to accept the US proposal for an "immediate, interim" 30-day ceasefire, contingent upon Russia's agreement. US President Donald Trump indicated optimism about Russia's agreement to the ceasefire plan, mentioning a potential meeting with Russia either later on Tuesday or Wednesday.

US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, after the Saudi Arabia talks, mentioned plans to communicate with his Russian counterpart soon. He noted that a delegation has been identified to proceed with the next steps from the Ukrainian side, and he is expected to engage with his Russian counterpart in the coming days.
