Russia: Russia announced on Monday that two separate Ukrainian drone attacks resulted in 19 fatalities and 66 injuries in the Belgorod region and Tatarstan.
According to Anadolu Agency, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that six civilians lost their lives and 27 were injured, including children aged four and nine, in the Belgorod region. In the city of Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, 13 individuals were killed and 39 others were injured. Zakharova described these attacks as acts of retaliation by Kyiv, following setbacks on the front lines.
Zakharova reported that during the night of August 8-9, residential areas in Belgorod were targeted by drones, and on the morning of August 10, drones were sent to attack residential and industrial sites. The attacks caused damage to approximately 30 apartment buildings, various social, administrative, and commercial facilities, as well as over 30 vehicles.
Expressing condolences to the victims' families, Zakharova conveyed wishes for a swift recovery for the injured. She confirmed that Russia's Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the attacks, vowing that those responsible would face severe punishment or military retribution.
Zakharova accused Kyiv of executing these strikes with terrorist intentions, despite their lack of military significance. She urged the international community and relevant organizations to denounce Kyiv's actions as terrorist crimes and warned that silence would be interpreted as complicity and encouragement of further attacks on Russian civilians.
