Moscow: Russian officials reported a fire at an oil terminal in the Krasnodar region, attributing the incident to an overnight Ukrainian drone attack. The regional administration of Krasnodar conveyed through a statement on Telegram that the attack occurred in the easternmost Temryuksky district, with drone debris falling in the village of Volna.

According to Anadolu Agency, the fires caused damage to two piers, two vessels, and a pipeline at the oil terminal, although no injuries were reported among the crew or employees onshore. The statement highlighted the ongoing efforts to extinguish the fire, with emergency and special services actively working on-site under the supervision of Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.

The attack specifically targeted the port of Taman, located near Volna. The Russian Defense Ministry separately announced that air defenses successfully intercepted six Ukrainian drones overnight, three of which were taken down over Krasnodar.

Ukraine's General Staff later confirmed the strike on the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal, noting a series of explosions at the facility. The Ukrainian statement acknowledged the damage to the pipeline, piers, and vessels, with fires spreading over an area exceeding 1,000 square meters.

Volna's proximity to the Kerch Strait, which separates Krasnodar from the Crimea Peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014, underscores the strategic significance of the location.
