Moscow: Russia announced on Monday that it has revoked the accreditation of two British diplomats, accusing them of engaging in intelligence activities. This decision follows a counterintelligence operation conducted by Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).

According to Anadolu Agency, the FSB revealed that the diplomats, Alkesh Odedra and Michael Skinner, provided false information when obtaining permission to enter Russia, constituting a violation of Russian law. The FSB's findings indicated signs of intelligence and subversive activities by the individuals, which were considered a threat to Russia's security.

Consequently, the Russian Foreign Ministry, in collaboration with relevant departments, decided to strip the diplomats of their accreditation. The statement also mentioned that both diplomats have been ordered to leave Russia within two weeks.

In a related development, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned a representative from the British Embassy in Moscow to express a strong protest against the incident. The ministry underscored that Russia would not tolerate the presence of undeclared British intelligence officers on its territory and emphasized that its stance on national security matters would remain firm.

Furthermore, the Russian side issued a warning to the UK, indicating that any further escalation by London would prompt a "decisive mirror response." As of now, British authorities have not commented on the situation.
