Russia: Russia on Friday said it summoned the ambassadors of UK and France over a Ukrainian strike earlier this week that killed seven people. A Foreign Ministry statement said the demarche given to both ambassadors stated the UK and France bear 'direct responsibility' for the attack on Tuesday, which also injured 42 others.

According to Anadolu Agency, the statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry claimed that the missile strike on Bryansk would not have been possible without the involvement of British and French specialists, alongside the provision of intelligence data to Ukraine. The ministry labeled the attack as a 'deliberate provocation' aimed at disrupting ongoing efforts toward a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.

The ministry urged the UK and France to cease their actions and demanded a public response condemning the Ukrainian attack. The Bryansk Governor, Alexander Bogomaz, initially reported six deaths and 37 injuries in the missile attack, later updating the toll to seven fatalities.

In a news briefing on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged the military operation in the border region. Ukrainian media, including the state news agency Ukrinform, quoted Zelenskyy referencing the strike on the Bryansk plant as a successful operation.

Ukraine's General Staff further claimed on Telegram that the missile strike targeted the Kremniy El microelectronics factory. They reported significant damage to the production facilities, attributing the attack to long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
