Russian, Indian Foreign Ministers Address Middle East and Ukraine at SCO Summit

Tianjin: Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov engaged in discussions regarding the Middle East and Ukraine with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during a meeting at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers summit in Tianjin, China.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement highlighting that the discussions between Lavrov and Jaishankar emphasized the situation concerning Ukraine and the Middle East. The ministers agreed to continue aligning their approaches to cooperation between Russia and India within key multilateral frameworks. Additionally, the agenda included topics related to bilateral cooperation.

In a separate meeting, Lavrov also held discussions with Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The Russian foreign service reported that the discussions with Dar covered various aspects of Russo-Pakistani cooperation and issues of regional and international security.

The SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Tianjin is a precursor to the SCO summit, scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 1 in the same city.
