Moscow: Ukrainian missile and drone strikes hit several Russian regions early Tuesday, with Kyiv confirming attacks on an oil refinery and a drone production plant as Russian authorities reported damage to residential, industrial, and commercial sites. Rostov Governor Yury Slyusar stated the region experienced a 'massive missile attack,' with the city of Taganrog suffering significant damage.
According to Anadolu Agency, an educational institution, commercial building, gas pipeline, agricultural warehouses, grocery store, and Ozon warehouse were damaged, as noted by Slyusar on Telegram. Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambaeva reported five apartment buildings were also damaged, but no casualties were recorded. Reports indicated damage near the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex, although regional authorities have yet to confirm the extent and circumstances.
Ukraine's General Staff announced its forces targeted the Atlant Aero plant in Taganrog, alleged to manufacture drones. In the Samara region, Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported more than 40 drones were intercepted overnight. An industrial facility and several residential buildings incurred damage, but no fatalities were reported.
The Ukrainian General Staff also confirmed strikes on the Syzran oil refinery, citing a fire and damage to a crude oil distillation unit and storage tanks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy corroborated attacks on the Syzran refinery and a drone production facility in Taganrog, and additional strikes on a drone preparation and launch site in the Oryol region and targets in the Black Sea.
In the Voronezh region, Governor Alexander Gusev stated the attack resulted in damage to windows at a municipal building and the roofs and facades of four private houses, with no casualties reported. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced its forces executed group strikes using attack drones on logistics centers and ports in Ukraine, as well as vessels allegedly utilized by the Ukrainian armed forces.
In the Odesa region, the ministry reported hitting a logistics center in Velyka Balka used for storing and distributing military cargo arriving in Ukraine from abroad. At the port of Chornomorsk, a dry cargo vessel and a ferry reportedly delivering cargo for the Ukrainian armed forces were also targeted. Russian forces continued their strikes on railway infrastructure in western Ukraine, utilized for transporting military cargo from European countries, the ministry added.
