Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that six people were killed and at least 17 injured in overnight Russian strikes targeting cities and energy infrastructure across Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy stated that ordinary cities have been under fire, with a focus on energy infrastructure, while many residential buildings have also been hit. Fires were reported in Zaporizhzhia and homes were damaged in Kyiv as a result of the strikes.

The attacks affected several regions, including Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Sumy. Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian air defense forces, mobile fire groups, and drone interceptor crews worked throughout the night and into the morning to address the attacks.

Zelenskyy accused Russia of dismissing diplomacy and urged allies to increase pressure through stronger sanctions and more long-range weapon deliveries. He emphasized the need for the European Union to adopt a strong sanctions package, stating that Russian words about diplomacy hold no weight without critical problems facing the Russian leadership.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported that the strikes destroyed energy facilities, leaving several communities without power, heating, or water. He called on international partners to send energy equipment and air defense systems ahead of winter.

Russia has not commented on the allegations, and independent verification remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
