Toulon: A sailor from the French carrier strike group (GAN) was reported missing during their return transit to Toulon, as announced by the French Defense Minister on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu stated on X that the sailor went missing during the night from Wednesday, April 23 to Thursday, April 24. The vessels of the strike group were making their way back to their home port in Toulon when the disappearance was reported.

Lecornu emphasized that search efforts were immediately launched onboard, but they were unsuccessful. Consequently, the GAN turned back to conduct search operations at sea. The family of the missing sailor has been informed of the situation as the search continues.
