Riyadh:Saudi air defenses successfully intercepted two drones launched by Yemen's Houthi forces early Saturday, aimed at the Riyadh region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, stated that Saudi forces are actively monitoring missile and drone threats targeting the kingdom.

The drones intended for the Riyadh region were detected and neutralized by air defenses. The Houthis have been involved in intensified conflict with Saudi-backed government forces since the resurgence of Yemen's civil war in July, following the group's declaration of a maritime blockade on Riyadh.
