Ankara: Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense announced Thursday that the threat to the southwestern cities of Khamis Mushait and Abha had ended, following an earlier warning issued to residents of the two cities. The all-clear was given shortly after the initial alert, signaling the resolution of the potential danger.

According to Anadolu Agency, warning sirens had been activated in Khamis Mushait and Abha on Wednesday due to a perceived threat. The warning came amid escalating conflict in neighboring Yemen, where Houthi forces claimed to have seized control of strategic areas near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, including the districts of Hays and Al-Khawkhah in the western Al-Hudaydah province.

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has seen intensified fighting between Yemeni government forces and the Houthis on several fronts, notably in the Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Al-Bayda provinces. The situation has been further exacerbated by airstrikes targeting Houthi positions. The conflict began in September 2014 when the Houthis took control of Yemen's capital, Sanaa, and several other provinces. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 to support Yemen's internationally recognized government.
