Saudi Arabia Intercepts Missile and Drone Attacks Amid Regional Tensions

Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia said Tuesday that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 10 drones and eight ballistic missiles during a new wave of attacks linked to ongoing regional tensions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Saudi Defense Ministry released a statement on US social media company X, detailing the interception and destruction of the drones. The ministry also reported that seven ballistic missiles targeting the Riyadh region and one aimed at the Eastern Province were successfully intercepted and destroyed.

These developments are part of escalating hostilities following a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran that started on February 28. The offensive resulted in more than 1,340 casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. These attacks have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
