Mecca:Saudi authorities have refuted reports about a suicide bomber at the Grand Mosque, explaining that a man was instead detained for creating panic among the public.

According to Anadolu Agency, the individual was arrested by security forces in Mecca for harassing people and spreading fear. Officials emphasized there was no truth to the claims circulating on social media about a suspected bomber with an explosive vest near the Kaaba.

The authorities' statement did not provide additional information regarding the detained suspect.
