Saudi Civil Defense Declares Safety in Najran After Threat Alert

Najran:Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense issued an early warning alert in the southern city of Najran on Thursday, announcing later that the danger had passed.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the Civil Defense released the alert to warn residents about a potential danger but did not provide further details regarding the nature of the threat.

Earlier developments include Saudi air defenses intercepting a ballistic missile fired by Yemen's Houthi group toward the kingdom's Eastern Province, as reported by the Saudi-led coalition. On Wednesday, the coalition also intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile aimed at the western Saudi city of Taif.

Additionally, on Tuesday, debris from two intercepted Houthi ballistic missiles caused damage to a building, a construction project, and a vehicle in the capital Riyadh. The Civil Defense reported no casualties from these incidents. These interceptions occur amid escalating tensions between the Houthi group and the Saudi-led coalition, which backs Yemen's internationally recognized government.

Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition against the Houthis since March 2015, following the group's seizure of Yemen's capital Sanaa and other regions in 2014.
