Saudi-Led Coalition Conducts Extensive Operations Against Houthis in Yemen

Sanaa:Riyadh The Saudi-led coalition announced that it has executed extensive military operations against Houthi forces in Yemen, focusing on the destruction of ballistic missile infrastructure under Houthi control.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki reported the destruction of two ballistic missile launchers in the capital, Sanaa. One of these launchers had been used in a recent attack on Riyadh. The coalition continues its efforts to dismantle the Houthi ballistic missile network.

Maj. Gen. al-Maliki stated that the operations were conducted under Saudi Arabia's right to self-defense, targeting Houthi military positions. The coalition claims to have destroyed five tunnels used for storing ballistic missiles, four ballistic missile launchers, and a missile depot in Houthi-controlled areas. The operation also aimed to disrupt supply lines and target Houthi military equipment along Yemen's front lines.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree indicated that the group targeted positions of government forces in Yemen's Aden and Lahij governorates with multiple ballistic missiles, focusing on weapons depots in the Salah al-Din area of Aden and the Al-Wahat area of Lahij.

The Yemeni army reported neutralizing approximately 218 Houthi fighters and field commanders in 753 operations over the previous 24 hours. These actions were part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, targeting Houthi command centers, fortifications, and troop concentrations, among other objectives.

The conflict in Yemen has persisted since the Houthis seized Sanaa and other provinces in September 2014, leading to a civil war. The Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 to support the internationally recognized Yemeni government. Control of various regions remains contested, with recent intensified clashes and the Iran-backed Houthis targeting Saudi Arabia with missiles and drones.
