Riyadh:The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced a firm response following an attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, which resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to 309 others.
According to Anadolu Agency, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki attributed the attack to Yemen's Houthis. The assault targeted a passenger terminal and affected both travelers and airport workers. Al-Maliki condemned the attack as a war crime under international humanitarian law and indicated that the coalition's Joint Forces Command would retaliate in accordance with these laws.
The Saudi civil aviation authority reported that the deceased included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, and one citizen each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. The injured are receiving medical attention, with some in critical condition.
Authorities noted that the attack caused significant material damage, which is still being assessed. Operations at the airport were temporarily halted on Saturday to ensure the safety of its facilities. This incident is part of a series of recent Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi infrastructure.
