Washington: US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, one of his key negotiators on the Gaza ceasefire deal, said the Palestinian group Hamas has been 'acting in good faith' under the agreement, citing information received from regional mediators involved in the negotiations. Speaking in an interview that aired Sunday on CBS' 60 Minutes program, Kushner said the US, Israel and mediators were jointly monitoring implementation of the deal, including the recovery of Israeli hostages and remains held by Hamas in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kushner stated that as far as the information conveyed by the mediators shows, Hamas has been honoring the agreement. He acknowledged, however, that the situation could change at any moment, but emphasized that for now, Hamas appears committed to the terms of the ceasefire.

Kushner, who is also currently serving as an informal adviser to the Trump administration, explained that Washington is encouraging both sides to proactively find solutions rather than assigning blame for potential breakdowns. He highlighted the importance of maintaining stability as the first phase of the ceasefire continues.

He further mentioned that progress in recovering the bodies of deceased hostages is contingent on the coordination between Israeli authorities and mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Trkiye, who are communicating with Hamas officials in Gaza.
