Ankara: Seven Muslim countries, including Trkiye, have "strongly" condemned Israel's repeated ceasefire violations in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths and injuries of over a thousand Palestinians.
According to Anadolu Agency, the condemnation was issued in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Trkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The statement, released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, emphasized that these actions by Israel risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts aimed at consolidating calm and restoring stability. This comes at a time when regional and international parties are working collectively to advance the second phase of the U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan and to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
The ministers expressed that these repeated violations pose a direct threat to the political process and hinder efforts to establish conditions for a transition to a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip, both in terms of security and humanitarian aspects. They called for a full commitment to the success of the second phase of Trump's Gaza peace plan.
The joint statement urged all parties to fulfill their responsibilities during this period and to exercise restraint to maintain the ceasefire. It emphasized the need to avoid actions that could negatively affect the current process. Furthermore, the ministers called on the parties to create conditions conducive to early recovery and reconstruction while advancing a just and permanent peace. This peace should be rooted in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in line with international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel has continued its attacks, resulting in the deaths of 524 people and injuries to 1,360 others since October 10, as reported by Gaza's media office.
