Bandar abbas: Several explosions were reported east of Iran's southern port city of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province on Tuesday, according to state media. The blasts were heard around Masan village on Qeshm Island, with additional explosions noted from the direction of the Strait of Hormuz on Qeshm.
According to Anadolu Agency, the deputy governor of Hormozgan province for political, security, and social affairs stated that no casualties have been recorded in the province so far. The context of these explosions is marked by ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, which have persisted since the war began with strikes on Iran in late February.
A framework deal was signed in June, facilitated by mediation from Pakistan and Qatar. However, the situation remained volatile as the US initiated a two-week bombing campaign in July and reinstated a naval blockade due to disagreements over navigation in the strait.
