Pakistan: Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated on Tuesday that the 'sincere implementation' of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June is the 'only way forward' to resolve the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, Dar made these remarks during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The meeting involved a 'warm exchange' between the two foreign ministers, where they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, as reported by Pakistan's Foreign Ministry on the US social media platform X.

During the discussions, Dar emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy are crucial for promoting peace and stability in the region. He highlighted the necessity of 'sincere implementation by both parties to the conflict of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding of June 2026 as the only way forward,' as per the ministry's statements.

Furthermore, both Dar and Araghchi reaffirmed the importance of continued engagement between Pakistan and Iran amid the regional tensions. The Islamabad MoU, reached in June, was part of diplomatic efforts aimed at halting hostilities between Washington and Tehran and creating a framework for de-escalation.

Pakistan has consistently sought to maintain diplomatic engagement with both the US and Iran, advocating for the resolution of differences through negotiations rather than military action. The meeting between Dar and Araghchi took place alongside the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan's capital, where regional leaders and senior officials gathered to discuss security, economic cooperation, and regional developments.
