Seoul: South Korean authorities have confirmed that the number of bird flu cases in the country has increased to 46 this season, with new infections reported at poultry farms in central regions.
According to Anadolu Agency, the latest cases were identified at farms near the cities of Cheongju and Asan, located in North Chungcheong and South Chungcheong provinces, respectively.
In response to the rise in cases, disease control teams have been dispatched to the affected farms to carry out culling operations and initiate comprehensive epidemiological investigations. These efforts are aimed at preventing further spread of the virus.
Officials stated that proactive inspections are currently underway at poultry farms nationwide. These inspections are intended to detect new cases early and implement swift containment measures to manage the situation effectively.
