Madrid: Spain on Thursday expressed concern over Iran's decision to halt its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), urging Tehran to adhere to its international nuclear commitments. This move comes amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East, which have stirred global unease about nuclear security.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Spanish Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its unwavering support for the IAEA and its Director General Rafael Grossi, emphasizing the importance of Iran's compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty's (NPT) Safeguards Agreement. The ministry's statement highlighted the need for Iran to meet its obligations to maintain the integrity of international nuclear agreements.

Iran's decision to suspend cooperation follows recent legislative actions in its parliament. This suspension is a response to heightened tensions with the UN nuclear watchdog concerning monitoring access and transparency issues.
