Stockholm: Three Swedish citizens were confirmed dead following a strike in Tyre, Lebanon, in early March, as announced by Sweden's Foreign Ministry on Thursday. These individuals were among eight members of the same family who perished in the attack.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Swedish Foreign Ministry disclosed the information through its press service. However, it refrained from providing additional details due to 'consular confidentiality,' as reported by the Swedish daily, Aftonbladet.

The incident occurred amidst heightened tensions in the region, with the Israeli army intensifying its attacks across Lebanon despite a two-week ceasefire agreement. This ceasefire, brokered by Pakistan between the US and Iran, was intended as a precursor to a more comprehensive agreement to end the conflict that began on February 28. While Pakistan and Iran claimed the ceasefire extended to Lebanon, the US and Israel have denied this.

Lebanon's Civil Defense reported on Wednesday that Israeli airstrikes resulted in 254 fatalities and 1,165 injuries. Furthermore, Pakistani government sources informed Anadolu that US and Iranian delegations are scheduled to engage in direct talks in Islamabad starting Saturday, with the goal of achieving a permanent ceasefire. These discussions could potentially continue beyond a single day.

The Lebanese Health Ministry has reported that since March 2, Israeli attacks have led to 1,739 deaths and 5,873 injuries.
