Stockholm: Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard has issued a strong advisory for Swedish citizens in Iran to leave the country, citing increasing regional tensions. The advisory, shared on the US social media platform X, underscores the uncertain situation in Iran and warns against all travel to the country.

According to Anadolu Agency, Stenergard emphasized the importance of taking the advisory seriously, urging Swedes in Iran to take advantage of the still-available air travel and border crossings to exit the country. She made it clear that individuals choosing to remain in Iran do so at their own risk, as the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will not facilitate evacuation efforts.

The advisory follows remarks by US President Donald Trump, who indicated he is “considering” a limited military strike to pressure Iran into a diplomatic agreement. This statement comes amid an increased US military presence in the region, further escalating tensions.
