Aleppo: The Syrian Army has reported significant progress in its operations against the YPG/SDF in Aleppo's Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, with more than 90% of the area now under their control. This development was reported by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), citing military sources.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Defense Ministry stated that the remaining armed elements in the neighborhood have been given an ultimatum to surrender themselves and their weapons at the nearest military point, ensuring their safety. The army emphasized its commitment to extending national sovereignty and vowed to respond firmly to any threats to security and stability in the area.

The operations have encountered challenges, as the YPG/SDF has reportedly used civilians as human shields and taken positions within residential homes. Despite these difficulties, the Syrian Army has arrested several members of the SDF and seized heavy weaponry from the group.

Earlier reports from SANA highlighted the cautious approach of the Syrian Army in these operations, prioritizing the safety of civilians due to the use of human shields by the terror group. The military began its operation after the YPG/SDF failed to comply with deadlines to withdraw from the neighborhood.
