Syrian Army Declares SDF Positions in Aleppo as ‘Legitimate Targets’ Following Renewed Shelling

Aleppo: The Syrian army has declared military positions of the PKK/YPG terrorist groups, operating under the name of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo, as 'legitimate targets.' This declaration follows the group's recent escalation and 'massacres' in the province, as reported by Syria's news agency SANA.

According to Anadolu Agency - English, the announcement came after the SDF renewed its shelling of residential neighborhoods in Aleppo for the second consecutive day on Wednesday morning. The renewed shelling follows a series of attacks by SDF terrorists on Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of at least five people and injuries to 16 others.

The Syrian army's Operations Authority has announced that the two neighborhoods will be treated as closed military zones starting from 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT). Civilians have been urged to stay away from SDF positions, and a complete ban on movement in these areas has been announced as of the specified time.
