Syrian Military Base Targeted by Drone Attack From Iraq

Damascus: The Syrian army announced on Saturday that it successfully repelled a drone attack aimed at one of its military bases located in southern Syria. The drones involved in the attack were reportedly launched from Iraqi territory.

According to Anadolu Agency, the state news agency SANA reported that the army’s operations authority confirmed the interception of drones targeting the Tanf military base. The military units were able to thwart the attack, which sought to compromise the security of the base.

The recent incident is noted as the second occurrence within a week where Syrian military installations have been targeted from Iraq. Earlier in the week, a military base in the northeastern Hasakah province came under attack from five rockets launched on Monday evening.
