Syrian President Engages with Syrian Turkmen Assembly Delegation in Damascus

Damascus: Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with a delegation from the Syrian Turkmen Assembly at the People's Palace in the capital, Damascus.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting took place on Saturday and the delegation was led by Council President Faisal Juma bin Jassim.

SANA, the state-run news agency, released photos of the meeting but did not provide further details regarding the discussions held. The Syrian Turkmen Assembly, established over a decade ago, represents the Turkmen population in Syria. This community is primarily located in several provinces, including Aleppo and Latakia, and in Turkmen villages within Homs, Hama, and Raqqa.

Additionally, a significant number of Turkmen displaced from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights have settled in Damascus and Quneitra. The meeting is perceived as part of the Syrian government's ongoing efforts to engage with different ethnic and community representatives throughout the country.
