Syrian President to Meet Trump at White House: Report

Washington: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is expected to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House, US Special Envoy Tom Barrack confirmed to Axios on Saturday. The meeting, scheduled for November 10, will mark the first visit of any Syrian president to the White House.

According to Anadolu Agency, Barrack noted that al-Sharaa is expected to sign an agreement on joining the US-led coalition against ISIS (Daesh). This development could signify a shift in Syria's engagement with international efforts to combat terrorism.

Barrack also mentioned that a fifth round of US-mediated direct talks between Israel and Syria is anticipated to follow al-Sharaa's visit to Washington. These talks could potentially address longstanding regional issues and contribute to diplomatic progress in the Middle East.
