Damascus: The leader of Syria's new administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, held a meeting on Sunday with a Turkish delegation led by Ibrahim Kalin, the head of Turkey's national intelligence organization, MIT. The meeting was also attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani and General Intelligence chief Anas Khattab, as reported by the state news agency SANA.

According to Anadolu Agency, the talks come in the wake of significant political changes in Syria, following the departure of Bashar Assad. Assad, who led Syria for nearly 25 years, fled to Russia after anti-regime groups seized control of Damascus on December 8, bringing an end to his family's longstanding rule.

Since Assad's departure, a number of countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, have initiated relief and aid efforts aimed at supporting the Syrian populace during this period of transition.
